SOUTH GATE, Los Angeles County — South Gate residents, landlords and community organizations can register for a free virtual fair housing workshop Tuesday, November 17, 2026, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The City of South Gate is hosting it in partnership with the Fair Housing Foundation.
What topics will it cover?
The city says the program will explain fair housing laws and rights and responsibilities affecting tenants and housing providers. Planned topics include disability-related accommodations and modifications, issues facing seniors and veterans, harassment, retaliation, eviction and dispute resolution.
How do people join?
The official announcement says the program will run on Microsoft Teams and registration is required. Residents should use the registration instructions linked from the city’s event page and check whether accessibility or language accommodations can be arranged.
Where can residents get individual help?
The Fair Housing Foundation operates an assistance line at 1-800-446-FAIR (3247) for questions about housing rights and discrimination concerns. The city lists the organizer as a provider of education, counseling and investigation services.
The workshop is legal information, not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer about a personal housing dispute. Do not assume attending automatically resolves an eviction, housing complaint or accommodation request.
