SOUTH GATE, Los Angeles County — November 2026. Voters are showing an early No majority on South Gate Measure SG, a city users-tax proposal. ABC7’s local election tracker reports 10,502 No votes (68.64%) and 4,799 Yes votes (31.36%), a difference of 5,703 votes in the current unofficial report.
What is Measure SG?
The measure is described by ABC7 as an 8% users-tax question. A users tax should not be assumed to apply uniformly to every household or transaction without reading the official ordinance; taxable services, exclusions and collection methods depend on the precise ballot text.
Separate from City Council
Measure SG is a citywide ballot question, not a candidate race. Residents also voted in City Council contests, and the results of those races cannot be inferred from the tax vote. Although the No share is substantial, the county has not certified the result.
